Clients come to Omnitech with particular technology needs every day. We work very closely with each client in order to define their specific needs and come up with solutions together that will help them function more effectively and efficiently.

NEED

Tasked to rewrite the application that manages the sale and production of Daktronics international and domestic projects, Daktronics turned to Omnitech under the pressure of a fast-approaching project deadline. On top of creating the core application, there was also a desire to create reusable code libraries that could be incorporated into existing and future intranet business applications. Due to time constraints placed on the project, Daktronics needed resources to augment their in-house development staff. In response, Omnitech supplied a team of two experienced web development specialists. Providing seasoned developers ensured that the time needed to adapt to Daktronics development environment was minimal and that development already in process could continue without interruption.

SOLUTION

In order to meet the needs of the current project as well as future internal applications the project was designed with ASP.NET pages and objects. The Omnitech team leveraged the .NET framework by enhancing current user controls and creating new ones. Additional technologies such as AJAX and XML were used to create reusable client-side scripting libraries. These approaches helped build a library of presentation objects that enhanced the user experience on the site and cut development time by eliminating common and redundant code.

RESULTS

Our developers maintained a strong communication link with the in-house developers to ensure a cohesive team and to properly address any outstanding issues. As design challenges arose, our team members were able to work together to find clear solutions that furthered the goals of the project. This cooperation ultimately helped Daktronics to meet their internal deadline and deliver an application that supported them its corporate vision.
